Privacy Policy

What is a Privacy Policy

A privacy policy is a document that states how an organisation will deal with the personal information it collects. This Privacy Policy covers how Hawthorne Clinic collects personal information, what the personal information is used for and how the personal information is stored and managed.

The Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 made many significant changes to the Privacy Act 1988. These changes commenced on 12 March 2014.  The Privacy Act includes thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs set out standards, rights and obligations for the handling, holding, accessing and correction of personal information (including sensitive information).  The Privacy Policy of Hawthorne Clinic complies with the Privacy Act 1988 and the recent 2014 privacy amendments known as the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
